If I forgot my UCARD, how can I enter the Library?

You can get a Temporary Library card for the day from the temporary card kiosk or you can use the UCD Library App Digital Library card.
Temporary Library Card:
The temporary card kiosk is located close to the Library entrance gates at the James Joyce Library.
All you need to do is enter your UCD Connect username and password, and the machine prints off your temporary card.
Your temporary library card replaces your UCard for the whole day.
Keep this card with you to enter and exit the Library as your UCard will not work at the gates.

You can only issue one temporary library card per day so you should take care not to lose it.
You cannot borrow with a temporary library card.
Virtual Library Card:
- Open the UCD Library App. Tap on the Library Account and then Tap on the first option to Sign In.
- Enter in your UCD Connect Username and Password – then click Login.
Now that you have signed in My Barcode will appear as an Option at the bottom of the screen.
When you tap on My Barcode – your Barcode will display - this is your Digital Library Card.
You can borrow items directly from your smartphone with the new ‘Self-Checkout’ option.
