Can a Visiting Academic get library access?
Answer
Yes. Visiting Academics can access UCD Library, including online resources and Library buildings.
Access to electronic resources is limited to Visiting Academics in line with publisher agreements.
Online access (e-resources)
To access Library electronic resources, you must have a UCD Connect IT account.
- The Head of School or Unit (or their nominee) must request a Sponsored Connect IT account.
- Once your UCD Connect account is set up:
- If you cannot log in to your UCD email, see Information for Visitors with Sponsored Connect IT accounts.
- If you can log in, see How do I access library e-resources? for details on access on and off campus.
Physical access (Library buildings)
To access Library buildings, you need a UCard (UCD’s campus and Library card).
- Contact the UCARD Office to arrange your card.
- Once issued, your UCard allows you to enter Library buildings and use services on site.
If you need further assistance with e-resources on or off campus, please complete the E-Resources Support Form.
